Voopoo Argus pods compared, the four latest models side by side

Voopoo now sells more than thirty products under the Argus name, and its four most recent pods compete for the same shelf space. Picking a Voopoo Argus today means sorting through spec sheets that look alike and sometimes disagree. We compared the G4, G4 mini, Z3 and P3 on five criteria, namely weight, battery, output, the cartridge and its coils, then the interface, checking the manufacturer against retailers and a published review.
Which Voopoo Argus should you choose among the latest models?
For most vapers, the Argus G4 is the most complete Voopoo Argus on sale right now. It is the only one of the four to use all three resistances of the Multi-Ohm cartridge, 1.0, 0.7 and 0.4 ohm, and it adds a screen and adjustable output up to 35 W.
The G4 mini keeps the same battery and cartridge in a lighter body with no screen and no wattage control, limited to 0.7 and 1.0 ohm. Smaller still, the Z3 goes for the lowest weight, at the cost of a smaller battery and lower output. As for the P3, it takes a different route, with a large touchscreen and Snap cartridges.
The Multi-Ohm cartridge, the big change of 2026
The G4 and G4 mini, released in spring 2026, and the Z3 share a cartridge that Voopoo presents as the first with adjustable resistance. It is top filled, comes in a 2 ml version for the UK and Europe, and packs several electrodes into a single body, so there is no need to buy one cartridge per resistance value.
Switching value takes a specific gesture. According to the Planet of the Vapes review published on 15 June 2026, on kits sent by Voopoo, inserting the cartridge with the side engraved "Argus" facing forward gives 1.0 ohm, while the side engraved "VOOPOO" gives 0.7 ohm. On the G4 only, two presses of the button unlock a third circuit at 0.4 ohm, and two more presses close it again.
The indicator lights do not follow the same code from one model to the next. According to Voopoo's product pages, the G4 mini shows 0.7 ohm with a white light and the Z3 with a blue one, while both show green for 1.0 ohm. Worth knowing if you move between devices.
The four Voopoo Argus pods side by side
The table brings together the figures Voopoo publishes, completed by the review mentioned above for the resistances actually available.
| Criterion | Argus G4 | Argus G4 mini | Argus Z3 | Argus P3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weight | 65 g | 56 g | 41.6 g | 82 g |
| Battery | 1650 mAh | 1650 mAh | 1100 mAh | 1500 mAh |
| Output | 5 to 35 W | 5 to 30 W | 5 to 20 W | 5 to 30 W |
| USB-C charging | 5 V at 2 A | 5 V at 1.5 A | 5 V at 1 A | 5 V at 2 A |
| Cartridge | Multi-Ohm | Multi-Ohm | Multi-Ohm | Snap |
| Resistances | 1.0, 0.7 and 0.4 ohm | 1.0 and 0.7 ohm | 1.0 and 0.7 ohm | 0.7 and 0.4 ohm |
| Display | 0.85-inch screen | LED indicators | LED indicators | 2.01-inch touchscreen |
| Cartridges in the box | 2 | 1 | 1 | 2 |
The P3 is the only one whose Voopoo page gives its dimensions, 51.35 × 20.7 × 60.7 mm, a short and wide shape that sets it apart from the other three. At 82 g it is also the heaviest.
Model by model, where the spec sheets disagree
Cross-checking sources brings out differences that no retailer listing flags. Here they are, device by device, with the figure we keep.
Argus G4
The G4 fires on the draw, and its button is there for settings. Five presses switch it on, three open the output adjustment. The review cited above found a range of 5 to 14 W on the 1.0 ohm side and 5 to 18 W on the 0.7 ohm side, with the 35 W ceiling reached only in 0.4 ohm mode. The screen shows resistance, wattage, battery as a percentage and a lock indicator.
Argus G4 mini
Voopoo's spec table gives the G4 mini a range of 0.4 to 3.0 ohm, while its own cartridge page reserves 0.4 ohm for the G4 and some later products. The published review and a trade magazine both confirm the mini works at 0.7 and 1.0 ohm only, with no button and no screen. That same trade magazine lists the mini at 65 g, the G4's figure, where Voopoo states 56 g. A large UK retailer's comparison table also puts its output at 5 to 35 W, against 5 to 30 W on the manufacturer's page.
Argus Z3
The Z3 is the lightest of the four, with a PCTG body wrapped in leather. Its page only describes switching between 0.7 and 1.0 ohm, and the TPD kit ships with a single 2 ml cartridge. Voopoo lists it as compatible with the older Argus Top Fill and Top Fill V2 cartridges.
Argus P3
The P3 predates the Multi-Ohm and uses Snap cartridges, top filled under a hinged lid and supplied in 0.4 and 0.7 ohm. It is run from a side dial and a 2.01-inch touchscreen, with several modes including an Eco mode, and Voopoo quotes a full charge in 40 minutes.
Capacity, what the UK version changes
Voopoo publishes two capacities for the Multi-Ohm cartridge, 3.5 ml in its standard and US versions and 2 ml in its TPD version. In the UK, refillable tanks and pods are capped at 2 ml, so the TPD version is the one sold here.
A listing that quotes 3.5 ml is therefore using figures from another market. Before buying, the TPD mark on the box and the capacity printed on the cartridge are the details to check. Nicotine e-liquid in the UK is also capped at 20 mg/ml, in bottles of up to 10 ml.
Which Voopoo Argus suits the way you vape
The choice comes down mainly to how you inhale. If you are still weighing up open and closed systems, our guide to open pod vs closed pod sets out the basics before you pick between these four devices.
Tight mouth-to-lung draw
For mouth-to-lung vaping with no wattage to manage, the G4 mini is the simplest choice. It keeps the G4's 1650 mAh battery and offers both resistances suited to a tight draw, 1.0 ohm for the tightest and 0.7 ohm for a slightly looser pull.
Restricted direct lung and versatility
If you move between a tight draw and restricted direct lung (a direct inhale held back by a narrower airflow), the G4 wins clearly. Its 0.4 ohm mode at 35 W and its screen make it the most versatile Voopoo Argus of the four. Our guide on how to choose a vape coil explains what each ohm value changes.
Pocket size or big screen
The Z3 suits anyone who puts low weight first and accepts a 1100 mAh battery and 20 W at most. The P3 is aimed at the opposite profile, someone who wants a readable screen and touch controls, without the adjustable cartridge.
FAQ
These answers cover practical points that product listings rarely address.
How do you lock the Argus G4? According to Voopoo, another series of five presses with the device on opens a menu to switch it off, change the theme, reset the puff counter and lock or unlock the device. A long press brings up usage tips.
Does the Multi-Ohm cartridge work on an older Argus? Yes, Voopoo says it pairs with more than twenty Argus family devices. On a model older than the G4, however, the 0.4 ohm circuit stays out of reach.
Does the airflow slider close the draw completely? No. On the G4 mini, according to the review cited above, one hole stays open when the rear slider is fully closed, which keeps a tight draw that is never blocked.
Should you wait before the first puff? Yes, a few minutes after the first fill, so the cotton can soak up the liquid. Firing on dry cotton can scorch it and leave a lasting burnt taste.
How many cartridges come in each box? The G4 mini and the Z3 come with a single Multi-Ohm cartridge, the G4 with two. As for the P3, it also has two, one at 0.4 ohm and one at 0.7 ohm, both 2 ml.
Voopoo Argus, our verdict on the latest pods
All three Multi-Ohm Argus models revolve around one idea, a cartridge that changes resistance when you turn it round. The G4 is the only one to make full use of it, the G4 mini and Z3 offer a reduced version, and the P3 stands apart with its Snap cartridges and large screen.
On our five criteria, the G4 comes out as the most balanced Voopoo Argus, and the G4 mini as the simplest for a tight draw. Whichever you pick, the TPD mark and the 2 ml capacity are worth checking before you buy, as with any refillable pod sold in the UK.
